We talk a lot about resilience and adaptability as the pillars of professional achievement.
But in my clinical work with high-performers, I’ve noticed that these "superpowers" often come at a staggering metabolic and psychological cost.
If you are always the one who can "go with the flow" or "fit the mould," you may find that your internal voice has become dangerously quiet.
You aren't growing; you are conforming.
In this week's video above or here, we explore the role of adaptation in success and why "fitting in" can often lead to the state of the High-Functioning Hollow.
Here's your reflection for this week:
When you exited your house this morning to go off and do the things you do, how much of yourself did you have to leave behind in order to succeed in the day ahead?
I am currently exploring the deeper implications of being a "high-functioning" individual through the lens of my Integrative Essence Therapy framework.
My goal is to help people move away from a state of chronic adaptation, constantly reacting to external demands toward a state of true internal alignment.
